Supported Organisations
The Centre of Excellence
The Centre of Excellence is a community centre in Cape Town’s Bishop Lavis, dedicated to empowering youth and supporting residents through educational programs and walk-in services for social issues. They aim to foster excellence and uplift disadvantaged communities through holistic community development. The services are extended in other areas and other provinces as well.
Siyanda Hadebe Foundation
Their approach is grounded in the belief that education is the foundation of long term personal and community transformation. In underprivileged communities, challenges such as food insecurity, exposure to violence, poor health, lack of basic resources and limited positive recreational opportunities directly affect a learner’s ability to attend school, concentrate, and believe in their own potential. Through the integrated focus areas, they work to remove these barriers by providing holistic support that allows children and youth to remain in school, stay engaged, and pursue their education with dignity, confidence and hope, knowing that they are supported and not alone.
Ubuntu Pathways
At Ubuntu Pathways, have spent the past 26 years breaking the cycle of poverty in the community of Gqeberha, South Africa. Through our comprehensive system of education, health, and household support, they are placing 2,000 orphaned and vulnerable children on a pathway out of poverty, from cradle to career. Shifting away from traditional development models that fail to address the compounding burdens of poverty, they have pioneered a community-led, holistic approach that takes children and families from vulnerability to stability and success. In partnership with the Bertha Foundation, they have created a world-class staff development initiative.
